Ukrainian Synchronised Swimming Championship: Highlights and Achievements
From November 15 to 18, the Ukrainian championship in synchronised swimming for juniors and youth took place in Kyiv.
65 athletes from Kyiv, Odesa, Mykolaiv, and Donetsk regions participated in the competitions.
The representatives of Odesa were students from the Specialized Children and Youth Sports School of Olympic Reserve «Chornomorets» and the Odesa Regional Comprehensive Youth Sports School.
In the junior category, Vladyslava Kocherba from Odesa claimed first place in the technical solo event. The Odesa team, consisting of Sofia Sarukhanyan and Taisia Pochepynska, secured third place in both the technical and free duet events.
In group events, the Odesa team, including Vladyslava Kocherba, Sofia Sarukhanyan, Yelyzaveta Siedova, Taisia Pochepynska, Maria Borysova, Anastasia Borysova, Yeva Havalko, Sofia Dronova, Oleksandra Futorna, and Olena Aliyevska, won silver medals in both the technical and free programs and bronze in the acrobatic groups.
In the youth category, Sofia Sarukhanyan became the champion in technical solo, and she also, along with Yelyzaveta Siedova, claimed first place in the duet event.
Moreover, the Odesa team, comprising Yelyzaveta Siedova, Maria Borysova, Anastasia Borysova, Yeva Havalko, Sofia Dronova, Oleksandra Futorna, and Olena Aliyevska, won gold in the combined groups.
The athletes were trained by coaches Olga Nikolaychuk (SDYUSSHOR «Chornomorets») and Svitlana Pershina (Odesa Regional Youth Sports School).
