Ukrainian Hockey Players Triumph in International Tournament
A rising star from Odesa has led the Ukrainian national team to victory in the International Three Nations Tournament. This event, held in Austria, served as a crucial preparation stage for the U18 World Ice Hockey Championship in Division 1A.
Ilya Bobrov, the main goalkeeper representing the «Dzhynestra» Youth Sports School from Odesa, played a key role in the national team's success.
The Ukrainian team faced off against Denmark and the host nation, Austria, in this tournament.
In their opening match, Ukraine triumphed over Denmark with a score of 3-0.
Goalkeeper Ilya Bobrov showcased his skills by saving 25 shots and achieving a shutout.
During the second match, the Ukrainians secured a convincing victory against Austria, winning 7-1, thanks to the goalkeeper's solid performance.
At the «Sports Capital» awards in 2025, Ilya Bobrov and his coach Ruslan Korop were honored with Certificates of Merit from the Executive Committee of the Odesa City Council for their outstanding sports achievements.
