Mini Basketball Festival in Odesa
On January 5th, the sports hall of the Odesa specialized children's and youth sports school of Olympic reserve hosted the mini basketball festival as part of the NOC Ukraine project 'Do like Olympians'.
This sporting celebration during the New Year period has already become a great tradition and took place for the fourth time.
The main stars of the festival, alongside the young players, were the leading teams of the Odesa region: the men's team 'BIPA-Odesa' (head coach - Oleksandr Ryabchuk, captain - Dmytro Solovey) and the women's team 'Interkhim-SDYUSHOR named after B. Litvak' (head coach - Iryna Shchypakina, captain - Svitlana Baturina).
About two hundred basketball players aged 7 and older, representing sports schools and clubs from Odesa, participated in the event.
There were quizzes and workshops for the children led by famous players. At the end of the event, all participants received gifts - New Year sweets from the Odesa city and regional basketball federations, and Olympic prizes from the NOC Ukraine branch in Odesa region. The SDYUSHOR named after B. Litvak received a set of basketballs.
