Success of Ukrainian Karateka at the World Championship
From November 27 to 30, the World Karate Championship took place in Cairo, Egypt. A total of 384 competitors, including 192 men and 192 women, from 88 countries participated in the event.
Ukrainian karate legend Angelika Terlyuga excelled at the championship, winning a bronze medal in the under 55 kg weight category.
After losing in the quarter-finals to Egyptian athlete Ahlam Youssef (3:8), Angelika earned a chance to fight for bronze since her opponent made it to the finals. In the bronze medal match, she faced Valentina Toro Meneses from Chile, ranked 2nd in the WKF world rankings, and won with a score of 6:4, showcasing her determination, skill, and indomitable spirit.
This year, after giving birth, Angelika Terlyuga has already proven her high class by winning a silver medal at the World Games in Chengdu, China.
