Muay Thai Championship in Athens: Celebrating Ukrainian Athletes' Achievements
From November 18 to 25, 2025, Athens (Greece) hosted the European Championship in Muay Thai.
A total of 536 athletes from 46 countries participated in the event.
The Ukrainian national team included athletes from the Comprehensive Children and Youth Sports Schools No. 7 and No. 16 in Odesa.
In the "wai kru" category, champions included Ivan Rasputny, Anastasia Yevtushenko, and Irina Ladynenko (all from CYSS No. 7), while Valeriy Denysov (CYSS No. 16) took home the silver.
Among athletes aged 12-13, representatives from CYSS No. 7 excelled. Diana Savotina became the champion after defeating Polish athlete Sandra Kazimirska in the final, and Ivan Rasputny secured a bronze medal.
In the 14-15 age group, athletes from CYSS No. 7 won two silver medals, with Kyrylo Berezovskyi and Yelizaveta Velikova becoming prizewinners.
In the U-23 category, Elina Perstnyova (CYSS No. 16) claimed the European champion title.
CYSS No. 7 athletes also showed outstanding performance among adults, with Mykhailo Serdiuk and Bohdan Studnev becoming European champions, while Nikita Kuts and Dmytro Zanin earned bronze medals.
The athletes were trained by coaches: Hanna Yevtushenko, Volodymyr Pishenin, Liliya Shapoval, Hanna Avakova, Mykhailo Mitaki, Andrii Vakharash (CYSS No. 7) and Maksym Neledva (CYSS No. 16).
