On April 24, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with South African President Cyril Ramaphosa, during which he presented a list of 400 Ukrainian children abducted by Russia from temporarily occupied territories.

Direct quote: "Children are being held in Russia against their will, a tragic outcome of the war. Unfortunately, we are facing this dreadful issue. Tens of thousands of children have been kidnapped from the temporarily occupied regions of Ukraine. 

We must return every one of them. Just like the thousands of soldiers and civilians who have been held in Russian prisons under inhumane conditions for years. South Africa is a co-leader in the coalition to bring back Ukrainian children. I hope President Ramaphosa will help us in this effort".
