22 July 2025

President Volodymyr Zelensky has instructed the formation of a delegation to negotiate with the Russian side. The delegation will be led by Rustem Umerov and will include representatives from intelligence, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the President's Office.

The head of state shared this information via his Telegram channel.

«I have instructed to form a delegation for negotiations with the Russian side. Rustem Umerov will lead this delegation, which will include representatives from Ukrainian intelligence, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the President's Office,» - Zelensky stated following a meeting on the necessary outcomes of the negotiation process.

According to the President, during the meeting, Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council Rustem Umerov reported on the outcomes of the second meeting with the Russian side in Istanbul and the agreement for a new meeting in the near future.

«Ukraine is ready to work as productively as possible for the release of our people from captivity, the return of abducted children, as well as to stop the killings and prepare for a meeting of leaders to genuinely conclude this war. Our position is entirely transparent. Ukraine never desired this war, and it is Russia that must end the war it started,» - the head of state emphasized.

He also noted that during the meeting, Andriy Yermak, head of the President's Office, reported on the coordination of diplomatic efforts with partners in Europe and the United States.
