Completion of Bridge Repair in Odesa Region
In the Odesa region, the reconstruction of the bridge on the route connecting the ports of Izmail and Kiliya is nearing completion.
This was reported by the State Agency for Restoration and Development of Infrastructure of Ukraine.
Experts have finished laying the top layer of asphalt on the bridge structure and its approaches.
Currently, they are installing road signs, reinforcing the shoulders, and painting the bridge. After this, grass will be sown on the slopes and road markings will be applied.
The bridge over the Kofa Canal on the T-16-07 road Izmail – Kiliya – Vylkove is of significant logistical importance, connecting the Izmail and Kiliya river ports and four communities in the Izmail district.
“With the newly renovated bridge, the movement of civilian vehicles, ambulances, school buses, emergency services, and freight transport will be accelerated,” the agency notes.
The bridge over the Kofa Canal was built in the 1960s and is located on the national road T-16-07 Izmail – Kiliya – Vylkove. In 2021, it was declared emergency and closed after a hole formed in the middle, leading to structural distortion.
