How scammers operate

PrivatBank cardholders with the number 044 364 53 20 receive calls purportedly from the bank's «security service». During these conversations, they claim that several transactions have been made from the client's card «within the last 20 minutes to accounts in an aggressor country».

The fraudsters suggest canceling the transfers, obtaining insurance against fraud, and pressure clients to immediately follow their instructions, including recording a voice message and «verifying» card details.

To appear more credible, they provide a «personal number» that is supposedly available on PrivatBank's official website.

Through this method, scammers aim to acquire clients' details for further illegal activities. Bank employees never ask for card numbers, PINs, or CVV codes.

Citizens are advised never to disclose personal information or perform financial transactions during calls or messages from unknown individuals.

If you receive a call from scammers, you should contact the bank's call center and report the incident. If you have fallen victim to fraud, it's advisable to reach out to cyber police or relevant authorities.
