Memory Alley Unveiled in Odessa: Honoring Heroes
On the Day of Remembrance for Defenders of Ukraine, a solemn inauguration of Memory Alley dedicated to fallen heroes took place in Odessa.
Hundreds of families, local officials, military personnel, and veterans gathered to pay tribute to those who sacrificed their lives for our freedom and future.
Ruslan Prykhodko, Deputy Minister for Veterans Affairs, emphasized the significance of this Alley:
«This is not just a memorial site; it is a symbol of our national identity».
Currently, over 200 names are inscribed along the Alley in Shevchenko Park, but sadly, the number of fallen heroes is far greater.
Odessa’s Mayor Hennadiy Trukhanov noted that the Alley will continue to be updated with the names of defenders who have died since 2014.
Additionally, work is underway to create a Memorial for fallen heroes in one of the city’s cemeteries.
Moreover, improvements are being made to the Glory Park and the Memorial to Fighters for Ukraine.
«These are not just projects; they are symbols of our memory and gratitude», - stated Hennadiy Trukhanov.
Together, we preserve the memory of those who have fallen, continuing their mission to build a better life for all of us.
