Electricity Consumption in Ukraine: Recent Trends
As of the morning of April 21, electricity consumption in Ukraine was down by 12.6% compared to the previous working day, April 18.
According to NPP “Ukrenergo” on Facebook, electricity consumption continues to decline, reports Ukrinform.
“Today, April 21, at 9:30, the level of electricity consumption was 12.6% lower than the previous working day - Friday. The reason is the non-working day declared by some employers,” the agency quotes the company's statement.
Additionally, warm and sunny weather across Ukraine contributes to reduced electricity usage from the grid.
Ukrenergo advises shifting energy consumption to the time of most effective solar power generation, from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM.
It is worth noting that a week ago, on April 15, the heating season for 2024/2025 officially ended in Ukraine.
Heat supply has stopped in all regions, but some social institutions such as hospitals and schools will continue to receive heating based on certain temperature conditions.
Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal announced the successful completion of the third heating season amid full-scale war, despite numerous Russian attacks on the energy system.
Throughout the 2024/2025 heating season, Russia launched 9 mass and dozens of smaller attacks against Ukraine's energy system.
“Despite all this, we prevailed. Homes of millions of Ukrainians, schools, and hospitals had light and heat. Our enterprises also operated without significant restrictions,” the Prime Minister said.
