On the evening of Saturday, April 12, 2025, a fire broke out in the Peresyp district of Odessa, leading to a tragic outcome - the death of an elderly woman.

According to the regional Emergency Service, the fire started in an apartment on Prince Volodymyr the Great Avenue, where doors and parquet flooring were engulfed in flames.

Rescuers found the body of the apartment owner, born in 1940, at the scene.

The cause of the fire and the extent of the damages are currently being investigated.

As reported by the Emergency Service, there were a total of 19 fires registered in the Odessa region over the past day, five of which occurred in Odessa and 14 in surrounding areas.
