President Volodymyr Zelensky has posthumously awarded the title of Hero of Ukraine to F-16 pilot Pavlo Ivanov.

Word for word: "For personal courage and heroism displayed in defense of the state sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, and selfless service to the Ukrainian people, I decree:

To confer the title of Hero of Ukraine with the Order of the "Golden Star" to Pavlo Ivanov, Major (posthumously)."

Background: On Saturday, April 12, during a combat mission on an F-16, 26-year-old pilot Pavlo Ivanov was killed.

Zelensky noted that he has heard reports from military officials regarding this combat situation, and all circumstances of the event are being clarified.
