On April 4, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine made a decision to enhance the powers of the Ministry of Digital Transformation in the field of technological innovations, including robotics and artificial intelligence.

This information was disclosed by government representative Taras Melnychuk during a session of the Verkhovna Rada.

According to the new changes, the Digital Ministry will:

promote the development of the robotics and semiconductor sectors and support domestic production of unmanned systems and cutting-edge technologies for defense;

define key areas for development and ensure regulatory governance;

organize financial support for enterprises engaged in the development and production of new technologies;

coordinate research and testing of new samples;

create infrastructure for testing and demonstrating robotics and unmanned systems;

support the development of artificial intelligence in Ukraine.

It is also worth mentioning that the Cabinet of Ministers transferred control over gambling regulations from the Gambling Commission to the Digital Ministry.
