It is noted that the new fast and economical pilot boat will help optimize the costs of the Delta Pilot branch by reducing fuel consumption and addressing delays in timely delivery of maritime pilots to vessels.

“The launch of the new pilot boat marks another significant step in strengthening our fleet and supporting the efficient operation of ports,” said AMPU head Oleksandr Semyrha.

The vessel is named after Serhiy Cheberyakov, an experienced pilot who dedicated over 18 years to maritime services and trained many generations of specialists. Serhiy Cheberyakov tragically lost his life in 2023 while attempting to escape from the occupied territories of Kherson region.

In December 2024, the pilot boat “Bolotyn” began operations on the Danube, built with the support of the USAID program, and the construction of a third boat is underway in Izmir, Turkey.
