Farewell to Captain Vladislav Ilchuk

02 March 2025

In the Odesa region, a farewell ceremony was held for Captain Vladislav Ilchuk, who died in combat on February 22, 2025. The Bolhrad City Council noted that he stood up to defend his homeland from the first days of the full-scale invasion.

Today, March 2, in the village of Tabaky, they said goodbye to the commander of the mechanized battalion, Vladislav Ilchuk. Before the war, he lived in Bakhmut with his family, who were forced to move to Odesa after their hometown was destroyed by Russian forces.

"After fierce battles in Bakhmut, the officer's family had to leave their hometown and relocate to the Bolhrad community. There, they tried to build a new life, believing that peace would return and their Hero would come back home. However, the enemy shattered these hopes, leaving the family without a husband, son, and father.

The body of the fallen defender was carried through a living corridor formed by community members to honor Vladislav’s heroism. At the cemetery, where he found his eternal rest alongside other fallen soldiers, the widow of the deceased was presented with the state flag of Ukraine as a symbol of gratitude and memory," the Bolhrad community emphasized.
