Metropolitan Epiphanius Visits Odesa Region
The Most Blessed Metropolitan Epiphanius, head of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine, made a significant visit to the Odesa region.
Accompanied by Archbishop Afanasy, the Metropolitan visited medical facilities where wounded defenders of Ukraine are receiving rehabilitation.
During this visit, an important meeting took place between the clergy, regional leaders, and military officials to discuss pressing issues.
Oleg Radkovskyi, the First Deputy Head of the Regional Council, expressed gratitude to the Metropolitan for his support, presenting him with an honorary award.
«Your presence in our region is a symbol of faith and hope for all residents of Odesa. The church and prayers provide tremendous support for those defending our country. Your devotion to serving God makes the Orthodox Church of Ukraine a steadfast shield for our people during these challenging times», – remarked Oleg Radkovskyi.
During the ceremonial event, Metropolitan Epiphanius awarded church distinctions for contributions to the spiritual revival of Ukraine to government representatives and military personnel.
In his speech, the Metropolitan outlined the importance of spiritual security for Ukraine, the regional situation, and the Church's role in society, highlighting the dangers of the aggressor using religion for its own goals.
It is noteworthy that awards from the Metropolitan were presented to Oleg Radkovskyi and Regional Council Deputy Andriy Babenko.
