Odesa Betrayer: New Case Details
The Odesa regional prosecutor's office has announced charges against a former city council member who openly collaborated with the state aggressor.
He is charged with treason, war propaganda, and justifying Russia's aggressive actions against Ukraine, using media channels (part 2 of article 111, article 436, part 3 of article 436-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
Investigators found that in 2014 the ex-deputy moved to Russia, where he actively undermined Ukraine's sovereignty.
On February 24, 2022, the day of Russia's full-scale invasion, he joined Russian troops in the temporarily occupied Kyiv region, assisting the enemy and spreading Kremlin narratives.
He actively used his Telegram channel to call for Ukrainian soldiers to lay down their arms and not resist, justifying Russia's aggression in his posts.
Additionally, the suspect gave an interview to a well-known Russian blogger, openly admitting his collaboration with the occupiers.
He is currently on the wanted list.
The investigation is being conducted by the SBU in the Odesa region.
According to the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
