New Horizons for Odesa: Training on Project Implementation
The city of Odesa has become the venue for training sessions organized by the UNDP team, focusing on the execution of infrastructure initiatives under the Emergency Recovery Program for Ukraine.
Over two days, local representatives from 15 communities across 6 regions will engage openly with UNDP experts, gaining insights and answers related to project implementations.
The mayor of Odesa, Gennady Trukhanov, welcomed the organizers and participants, expressing gratitude for the collaborative experience and support for new initiatives.
"Our partnership began in 2020. My key requirement for the city departments was to demonstrate our capability, strength, and openness. We have been successful, as we expanded from 5 projects worth over UAH 276 million to an additional 7 projects worth over UAH 813 million, which we hope to complete by the end of 2025," - shared Gennady Trukhanov.
In Odesa, projects are primarily focused on education and healthcare.
The reconstruction of school No. 41 and the outpatient department of city hospital No. 8 has been completed. Three more schools are nearing completion.
Additionally, major repairs are planned for two schools, a maternity hospital, and the infectious disease hospital and hospital No. 1.
Project implementation is carried out on a co-financing basis, with local budgets contributing 20%.
