City Council Meeting: New Initiatives and Energy Security
On December 12, 2024, the City Tripartite Social-Economic Council held its regular meeting, focusing on significant municipal issues.
Participants included local government representatives, trade unions, and employer organizations, such as Deputy Mayor Pavlo Vugelman and Chair of the Odessa Regional Trade Union Federation Vyacheslav Buratynskyi.
The agenda addressed pressing matters, including:
- the implementation of a project for building power stations to enhance energy security;
- the progress of financial assistance programs for homeowners' associations in energy modernization;
- career guidance initiatives in educational institutions.
Economic stability is a crucial factor in today's environment.
Valeriy Ivanov, Director of the municipal enterprise “City Heating Supply of Odessa,” informed attendees about measures to ensure energy security during wartime, including a Memorandum with the UN on creating a distributed generation system.
Two cogeneration units have been installed, and connections to the networks are underway.
“This project will enhance Odessa's resilience to energy challenges,” the speaker emphasized.
Maria Lisnichenko, Deputy Head of the Tariff Policy Department, discussed the success of the “Enerhodim” program and financial support provided to 11 homeowners' associations.
In 2024, budget support amounted to over 3.7 million UAH. The program will continue in 2025.
Economic stability ensures quality employment, particularly for youth. The Education Department provided information on career guidance activities.
The meeting concluded with discussions on plans for 2025.
