Fire Incident in Odesa: Heroes of the Rescue Team

On January 11, 2026, a fire broke out in a production building specializing in wood processing at 21 km of the Starokyivska road in Odesa.
The firefighting efforts were hampered by strong winds. Firefighters had to use breathing apparatuses due to heavy smoke. Thanks to their quick actions, nearby buildings were saved from damage. Fortunately, there were no casualties or injuries reported. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
A total of 17 fire units and 52 firefighters from the State Emergency Service were involved in the response.
Additionally, the Ukrainian Volunteer Firefighters Association provided 1 unit of equipment and 4 personnel.
The Municipal Guard contributed with 1 unit of equipment and 4 staff members, while the Rescue Divers Service sent 1 unit and 3 personnel.
