On the evening of January 5, 2026, an open area in Usatove, a village in the Odesa district, caught fire due to burning waste. According to the Odesa State Emergency Service, a man born in 1986 suffered burns while attempting to extinguish the flames himself.
He was hospitalized. The cause of the fire and the extent of damages are being investigated.
One fire truck and five firefighters from the State Emergency Service were deployed to the scene, along with one truck and three personnel from the local fire team "Nerubaiske".
