Additional Trains for the Holiday Season by Ukrzaliznytsia
«Ukrzaliznytsia» has announced the launch of additional trains for the Christmas and New Year periods. For residents of Odesa, several new routes have been added:
- Train No. 248/247 Kyiv – Odesa
- Train No. 265/266 Kyiv – Odesa
- Train No. 168/167 Odesa – Lviv
This means that Odesa residents will find it easier to plan trips to the capital or western Ukraine without struggling to find tickets.
In total, 16 additional trains have been allocated, including popular destinations to Lviv, Uzhhorod, Ivano-Frankivsk, Rakhiv, Truskavets, and Kovel. Special attention is given to the Carpathians, where families and military personnel traditionally go for relaxation.
Convenient transfers in Lviv are also noteworthy. For instance, train No. 291 Kyiv – Lviv has a quick connection (only 35 minutes) with the Lviv – Chop route, which passes through Slavske, Volovets, Svalyava, and Mukachevo. Additionally, train No. 289 Kyiv – Lviv allows for a leisurely transfer to the modern diesel train Lviv – Vorokhta through Yaremche and Bukovel.
Furthermore, express services have been added for Kyiv – Lutsk and Kyiv – Kharkiv, as well as additional carriages from Dnipro to Lviv.
If tickets are sold out, the UZ app has an auto-purchase feature that automatically finds available seats and often saves the day at the last minute.
In January, some of these routes will also be covered by the «3000 km across Ukraine» program, as reported by «Ukrzaliznytsia».
