Warning: New Cybercrime Wave in Ukraine
Cybercriminals have once again started sending fake emails to Ukrainians, claiming they owe money to "Nova Poshta". This was announced by the company's press service.
"These emails are not related to "Nova Poshta" or any other company in the NOVA group", the company emphasized.
Criminals are copying the company's logo, altering the sender's address, and trying to pressure people with fictitious debts to open attachments or click on suspicious links.
The company urges everyone to follow simple rules to ensure safety:
- Check the sender's address. Emails from "Nova Poshta" only come from official domains. Be wary of suspicious changes or spelling mistakes.
- Do not open emails from unknown senders and do not click on links.
- If you opened a suspicious attachment or clicked on a dubious link, it is advisable to change your account passwords as soon as possible and check for any active sessions. If you detect suspicious activity, terminate all unknown sessions through your account's security settings.
- Enable two-factor authentication for email, messaging apps, banking, and other important accounts — this significantly enhances protection against unauthorized access.
- If you receive such an email — move it to spam and delete it. This helps reduce the risk of further distribution and protects other users.
"The cybersecurity unit of Nova Poshta is already working to stop this phishing campaign and is collaborating with relevant authorities and providers to limit the criminals' activities", the message states.
