Today, November 20, around 5:30 AM, an accident occurred in the energy networks of the Izmail region — the equipment could not handle the load. Residents of Izmail and nearby areas are temporarily without electricity.
According to DTEK Odessa Electric Networks, specialists are already working on repairs and trying to restore the equipment as quickly as possible.
Energy workers reminded that the area has been under attack multiple times at the end of October and throughout November. The enemy targeted DTEK's infrastructure, damaging five substations, one of which was attacked twice. Full restoration will take time, so the system is operating under increased load.
Residents are advised not to use powerful electrical appliances simultaneously to avoid additional overload and reduce the risk of further accidents.
Izmail's mayor, Andriy Abramchenko, reported that emergency restoration work is underway due to low voltage. Water supply facilities are being switched to backup power sources — this may temporarily lower water pressure or cause a temporary water supply interruption.
