Collaboration of Ukrainian and Romanian Firefighters
Odesa firefighters recently visited the Romanian city of Tulcea for a working meeting. They participated in the inaugural seminar of the joint Ukrainian-Romanian project «Enhancing Cross-Border Cooperation in Fire Management along the Danube – FIPRO» (ROUA00095), implemented by the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in the Odesa region in collaboration with the «Delta» Inspectorate for Emergency Situations in Tulcea County, under the Interreg NEXT program «Romania-Ukraine 2021-2027».
During the meeting, firefighters from both nations discussed more effective responses to forest fires and ecological system ignitions. Specialists exchanged their experiences, analyzed legislative frameworks, and worked on creating a joint best practices manual.
Additionally, the head of the Odesa firefighters, Denis Platonov, familiarized himself with the technical resources of their Romanian colleagues at the «Delta» Inspectorate for Emergency Situations in Tulcea County.
Such meetings enhance the exchange of knowledge, foster learning from each other, and improve safety standards on both sides of the Danube.
