Revitalization of Odesa Infectious Hospital: A New Era in Medical Care
Renovation and restoration work is ongoing at the Odesa Infectious Hospital.
This hospital, founded in the early 19th century, serves as a crucial medical institution for the residents of Odesa and the surrounding region, including internally displaced persons.
In recent years, it has been gradually evolving into a modern medical center capable of addressing various challenges.
As part of the Ukraine Recovery Program, implemented by the government and international organizations, renovations are underway in two hospital buildings.
In the architectural landmark building, structural elements are being reinforced and authentic interior details restored during the renovation. Currently, dismantling work is ongoing, along with reinforcement and concreting of ceilings.
Interior spaces are set to be redesigned according to contemporary standards, and outdated engineering networks will be completely replaced.
In the administrative building, the roof has been replaced, and facade restoration is nearing completion. Inside, work continues on partitioning rooms and replacing ventilation, water supply, sewage, and electrical systems.
In addition to funding from the European Bank, city budget funds are also being utilized for the renovation of other hospital buildings. The final stage involves the renovation of the two-story children's ward, where a modern boxed unit with 82 beds is being created.
Furthermore, the city budget is financing the updating of the drainage system and strengthening the foundation of the bacteriological laboratory.
