New Initiative for IDPs in Ukraine

23 October 2025

A new support platform for internally displaced persons (IDPs) called 'Refuge. Work' has been launched in Kyiv. This initiative aims to help IDPs secure jobs and housing to effectively integrate into their new communities. This was reported by the Ministry of Social Policy of Ukraine.
The 'Refuge. Work' platform features job vacancies that offer housing from employers, retraining programs, and tools for job searching using artificial intelligence, promoting cooperation between the government and businesses.
'When a person has a place to live and the opportunity to work, they are not just surviving; they become part of the local community, paying taxes, raising children, and contributing to community development. The 'Refuge. Work' project is an example of a practical solution to combine these two elements,' said Minister of Social Policy Denys Uliutin.
Project initiator and member of parliament Halyna Yanchhenko stated that the 'Refuge' program started on the first day of the full-scale invasion, initially as a social media group, helping over 1 million Ukrainians find housing.
'Originally, this project was just a way for IDPs to find free housing. However, it has now evolved into much more than just searching for a place to live; it offers people a chance to start their lives anew,' she added.
