New Bulletproof Vests for Soldiers: Water Safety
The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine is introducing new bulletproof vests for the first time, allowing soldiers to stay afloat even with their gear and weapons. This information was reported by the MOD's press service.
These vests feature a modular design that includes a special component designed for positive buoyancy, developed for water-related tasks. This module has been approved by the Central Material Resources Development Management.
In the event of water contact, this element transforms the vest into a rescue device, keeping military personnel afloat with full gear, individual protective equipment, weapons, and ammunition. Its use reduces risks during water missions, whether at sea or while crossing water obstacles.
It is noted that these vests are utilized by naval forces and special operations units performing tasks in coastal areas and on water.
Previously, it was reported that the MOD is working on establishing standards for quality control of defense procurement in line with NATO requirements. This will set unified qualification standards for professionals responsible for defense procurement, enabling the assessment of their qualifications.
