Severe Flooding in Odesa: Consequences and Losses
As a result of a significant natural disaster in Odesa on September 30, 2025, the city incurred substantial damages due to intense rainfall that exceeded the two-month average in just one day. This led to flooding of roads and houses, power outages in certain areas, suspension of electric transport, as well as property damage and fallen trees.
Unfortunately, despite the prompt response from emergency services, municipal enterprises, volunteers, and the State Emergency Service units, the disaster resulted in loss of life.
In memory of the deceased, October 2, 2025, has been declared a Day of Mourning in the city.
The national flag of Ukraine and the flag of Odesa will be flown at half-mast on government buildings.
All businesses and organizations in the city, regardless of ownership, are advised to limit music use and entertainment activities.
The Mayor of Odesa, the Odesa City Council, and its Executive Committee express their condolences to the families of the victims.
