Devastating Wildfires in Odessa Region

In the past week, firefighters in the Odessa region responded to more than 220 incidents of wildfires affecting dry vegetation. The estimated damage has reached nearly 31 billion hryvnias.
According to the press service of the State Emergency Service of Odessa, the total area burned was 125 hectares.
“These are not just numbers reported by the State Ecological Inspection of the Southwestern District. They represent destroyed ecosystems, lost wildlife, and birds. In the worst cases, such fires devastate homes and claim human lives,” said the SES, once again urging the public not to burn grass and trash and to follow safety regulations in open areas.
