Today, August 30, Ukraine celebrates Aviation Day.

President Volodymyr Zelensky congratulated aviators on Telegram, emphasizing that thanks to their professionalism, the Ukrainian sky is under reliable protection.

"Aviation Day. A day for those for whom the sky has become not just a job but a calling. Military and civilian personnel alike – you all perform a vital mission for Ukraine. Our sky is under your watch", — he stated.

The President thanked everyone who ensures the country's safety for their dedication. He expressed gratitude to those working to advance Ukrainian aviation.

"We will do everything possible to ensure that the Ukrainian sky remains peaceful and safe. Happy Aviation Day!", — emphasized the head of state.

Minister of Defense Denys Shmyhal also acknowledged aviators on Facebook: "Today we thank everyone who stands guard over our country in the skies. You are true heroes who daily combat Russian terror and save the lives of Ukrainians".

"Eternal memory to the aviators who gave their lives for Ukraine. Their heroism will forever remain in our hearts", — added Shmyhal.

He also thanked "allies who help elevate our aviation capabilities. Ukraine will always remember your support in our darkest times".

"Dear aviators – pilots, navigators, engineers, officers. You are the reliable support of our state. Thanks to your bravery, millions of Ukrainians can live and build our country", — stated Air Force Commander Lieutenant General Anatoliy Kryvonozhko.

According to him, the courage and professionalism of aviators save lives and instill hope in the hearts of Ukrainians.

"You are the pride of the nation and a symbol of the resilience of the Ukrainian people", — emphasized the commander.

Aviation Day is a professional holiday for military and civilian aviators, celebrated annually on the last Saturday of August, as established by the Presidential Decree "On Aviation Day" from August 16, 1993.
