Extension of Financial Aid for IDPs
In August, the deadline for providing housing assistance to certain internally displaced persons (IDPs) from the most vulnerable categories was extended. These payments will now continue for an additional six months, until February 2026.
This information was confirmed by the Ministry of Social Policy, Family, and Unity.
The payments concern individuals with disabilities of groups I – III, families with children under 18 years old (up to 23 years if they are studying), as well as families consisting only of non-working individuals.
Additionally, several changes have been made to the process of allocating housing payments for IDPs, specifically:
having more than 100,000 UAH in a bank account will no longer be an obstacle for orphans, children deprived of parental care, and children temporarily accommodated with relatives, friends, foster families, or children's family-type homes;
if a non-working capable individual registers as unemployed in an employment center or finds a job after the termination of their aid payments within the same six-month period, their aid payments will be restored (from the month they began working).
The continuation of payments will occur automatically; there is no need to apply again.
The ministry also reminded that the amount of payments is:
- 2,000 UAH - for one adult;
- 3,000 UAH - for one child or IDP with a disability.
Assistance is paid monthly to each family member of IDPs belonging to vulnerable categories or those with low incomes.
