Starting from August 21, the National Bank of Ukraine will issue modified 20 Hryvnia banknotes. The back of the banknotes will feature the patriotic slogan "Glory to Ukraine! Glory to the Heroes!" in the upper right corner.

It is noted that all other design and security elements remain unchanged and correspond to the 2018 series 20 Hryvnia banknotes, with images and descriptions available on the official website of the National Bank.

The modified 20 Hryvnia banknotes will support banks and financial institutions starting August 21 to facilitate their issuance to customers and to replace worn-out, damaged, and withdrawn banknotes.

Citizens do not need to exchange the previous series 20 Hryvnia banknotes for the modified ones, according to the NBU.

"As a legal means of payment, they will circulate alongside other banknotes of the same denomination from previous years and must be accepted at their nominal value by all individuals and legal entities without any restrictions throughout Ukraine for all types of payments," the statement reads.
