Update on Water Supply Wells in Odessa

19 November 2024

The municipal enterprise «Water Resources» manages 16 water wells located throughout the city of Odessa. The depth of these wells ranges from 111 to 149 meters.

On average, each well can produce between 8 to 12 cubic meters of water during operational hours (from 08:00 to 20:00). The purified drinking water from the wells is available to all residents.

Water quality tests from the wells are conducted monthly to ensure compliance with state safety standards.

On November 17, 2024, due to massive attacks on the energy sector, water and electricity supply in Odessa was halted, leading to a surge in demand for water from the wells. During these days, approximately 13,000 and 12,000 people sought water, respectively.

Under normal conditions, about 10,000 visitors use the city's 14 wells daily. Each well is equipped with a backup power source in case of power outages.

The wells are located in all areas of the city at the following addresses:
25 Dalnytska St.;
14 Heavenly Hundred Ave.;
I. Rabin St.;
33 Lesya Ukrainka Ave. (Gagarin);
Volunteer St. (Marshal Govorov);
