Military Signal Corps Day: Honoring Professionalism
Today we celebrate Military Signal Corps Day, recognizing the crucial role of military signalers in maintaining communication systems for the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
This day, August 8, was established by the President's decree in 2000, commemorating the beginning of signaler training in Kyiv in 1920.
Following Ukraine's independence, the signal command became pivotal in forming modern military structures responsible for communication across all military districts.
In 2020, as part of military reforms, a new Command for Signal Troops and Cybersecurity was created.
Today, military signalers play a vital role in ensuring stable communication between units, command, and the front lines. Their profession is increasingly in demand, especially on the front line.
President Volodymyr Zelensky expressed gratitude to military signalers for their essential work that ensures the success of important operations.
Zelensky emphasized that this day recognizes those who maintain reliable communication during critical moments. It is the foundation for coordinated actions among defenders.
Defense Minister Denys Shmyhal also congratulated military signalers, highlighting the critical importance of their work for the success of operations at all levels.
He thanked signalers for their resilience and professionalism, which contribute to victories in battle. We wish them health and new achievements in service!
