Air Raid Alert in Romania Amid Ukrainian Conflict
In the Romanian town of Tulcea, located along the Danube, an air raid alert was declared in response to a threat of airstrikes from Russia aimed at the southern regions of Ukraine's Odesa area. This was also observable from Moldovan territory.
According to reports from Digi24, during the night of August 5 to 6, the alert lasted for over an hour and a half due to a Russian drone attack on southern Odesa.
The operation of air defense systems and explosions were clearly audible from Romanian territory.
A fire caused by the shelling alarmed residents in Romania, leading about 20 individuals to contact emergency services, believing that a fire had broken out near them.
"Response teams remained in the area to monitor the situation and to intervene if necessary. We urge calm and remind that the targets of Russian attacks are not in Romania, and we ask citizens to adhere to safety measures recommended by the authorities," stated the fire department.
The attack was also visible from Moldovan territory, with readers reporting this to the publication Nokta.
