200th Anniversary of the Odesa Archaeological Museum: New Stamp Released

02 August 2025

In celebration of the 200th anniversary of the Odesa Archaeological Museum, a new stamp has been issued in collaboration with “Ukrposhta”.

This information was shared on the museum's official page.

The stamp showcases some of the most renowned artifacts from the Odesa Archaeological Museum's collection.

“These artifacts are currently stored away, waiting for better times. While they await, you can receive them in a stamp format measuring 29.58x33 mm,” the announcement states.

Additionally, it's important to note that the Odesa Archaeological Museum of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine is the oldest archaeological museum in the country, celebrating its 200th anniversary this year. It also houses the largest collection of Egyptian antiquities in Ukraine, including sarcophagi, mummified remains, stelae, ushabti, scarabs, amulets, and fragments of papyrus. This unique collection was formed in the 19th to early 20th centuries.
