Extreme Heat and Fires in Odesa Region
In the past week, more than 350 wildfires have occurred in the Odesa region on open lands and ecosystems.
This information comes from the State Emergency Service.
The Odesa region is currently experiencing extreme heat, leading to a rise in fire incidents in natural areas.
Every day, our firefighters respond to dozens, sometimes over a hundred calls to extinguish these fires.
They work under challenging conditions: in high temperatures, with heavy gear, and without breaks, fighting the consequences of human negligence. Their goal is to protect our land, homes, nature, and lives.
According to the State Environmental Inspection of the Southwestern District, the environmental damage amounts to over 26 billion hryvnias! These are not just numbers - they represent losses that cannot be recovered! All this is due to human indifference, an unextinguished match, a cigarette butt, or the 'tradition' of burning dry grass.
Once again, we urge everyone to be responsible and stop setting our country on fire!
