Open Wushu Training at Odessa Beach

22 July 2025

This weekend, an open wushu training session was held at the inclusive beach #11 in Odessa. The event took place outdoors, barefoot on the sand, perfectly suited for the summer vibe.

Veterans of war joined the session, eagerly trying out this new sport for themselves. During the training, various styles of wushu were presented – contact and non-contact, dynamic and health-oriented. Everyone had the opportunity to try different techniques, feel the rhythm of movement, and find their inner balance.

The event showcased how an inclusive space can be vibrant and welcoming to people from diverse backgrounds.

The masterclass was conducted by:

  • Volodymyr Shevchenko – Master of Sports of Ukraine in wushu, European champion, multiple-time champion of Ukraine, licensee for the upcoming World Wushu Games in sanda;
  • Oleksandr Mykolayovych Berezhny – Honored Coach of Ukraine, senior coach in sanda at the Odessa Wushu Federation;
  • Serhiy Fedorovych Muntyanu – war veteran, combat participant, sanda coach at the Odessa Wushu Federation.
