The event took place yesterday, February 7, around 10 PM. The victim sustained severe injuries to his arm.

The investigative team of the local police department preliminarily established that a 53-year-old man living nearby was on the tracks and did not respond to the engineer's signals. The engineer applied emergency brakes, but could not avoid hitting the man. The victim was hospitalized with an arm amputation.

Investigators from Police Department No. 2 of the Odessa District Police recorded details in the Unified Register of Pre-Trial Investigations under part 2 of Article 276 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. This pertains to violations of traffic safety rules or operation of railway transport that caused serious bodily harm. All circumstances of the incident are being established. The investigation continues under the procedural guidance of the Primorsky District Prosecutor's Office of Odessa.
