New Opportunity for Ukrainians: Repeat Applications for Compensation
Ukrainians who were unable to fully utilize their compensation funds for home repairs now have a new chance to reapply.
This was announced by Taras Melnychuk, the government’s representative in the Verkhovna Rada, on Telegram.
Changes have been made to the rules governing compensation for the restoration of certain categories of real estate damaged due to military actions, terrorism, and diversions caused by Russian aggression, using the electronic public service «eRecovery».
According to the new regulations, compensation recipients who, due to objective circumstances (as defined by the decree), were unable to fully or partially utilize the compensation funds within the established timeframe are permitted to reapply for the compensation or its remaining amount.
Additionally, new provisions regarding the responsibility of compensation recipients for unintended use of funds have been established in case such facts are discovered by the commission reviewing compensation matters.
It was previously reported that under the "eRecovery" program, nearly 97,000 families received assistance for restoring damaged property, and almost 20,000 families were compensated for purchasing new housing instead of destroyed homes.
