New Platform for Missing Persons in Ukraine
A new platform providing information on missing persons under special circumstances was launched in Kyiv.
The platform was introduced at a press conference in Kyiv by its founders from the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine.
This platform is designed to coordinate the search for missing individuals and to support their families.
«We aimed to create a resource that would assist the relatives of missing individuals in obtaining all necessary information. Our goal is to build a bridge between government agencies involved in searches and the families in need of assistance,» said Maryana Reva, Director of the Communication Department of the Ministry.
The platform contains useful instructions for those wishing to start a search, submit a report, provide DNA samples for identification, and learn about their rights and social guarantees.
«In every region, we have established specialized centers for the search of missing persons. This platform will help families quickly access information about the work of these centers and find necessary specialists,» added Kristina Podiryako, head of the investigation organization department.
The platform will provide information on where to seek help and how to interact with law enforcement agencies.
«This is a dynamic system that will clarify who does what and provide up-to-date links. We want families to know where to turn for assistance,» said Artur Dobroserdov, Commissioner for Missing Persons.
Ultimately, the platform aims to become a coordination center for the search of missing persons and support for their families, uniting the efforts of various governmental and non-governmental organizations.
The platform is available online on the Ministry of Internal Affairs' website.
The Unified Register for body identification may begin operating in Ukraine later this year.
