Courageous Teens: Youth in Odesa Stand Against Threats
Young but brave: in Odesa, police honored teenagers who resisted recruitment attempts by Russian special services. Not only did they refuse to collaborate with the aggressor, but they also reported the hostile offers to adults. Law enforcement expressed gratitude for the civic awareness demonstrated by these youths.
Four boys and a girl aged 14 to 17 received criminal proposals through messaging apps from agents of the aggressor state. They were offered money to take photographs of military objects, set fire to relay cabinets, and vehicles belonging to the military and police.
The teens promptly informed the authorities. Thanks to their principled refusal to cooperate, a number of dangerous crimes were prevented.
“These children showed maturity and responsibility, exemplifying true patriotism. They did not succumb to enemy promises, rejected 'easy money,' and chose the side of truth, acting as conscientious citizens of their country. We sincerely thank them and urge everyone not to remain silent about similar incidents,” noted Victoria Chalova, head of the juvenile prevention department of the National Police in Odesa region.
Law enforcement also thanked the parents for raising such commendable children, and the teenagers received certificates and gifts.
Their actions serve as an inspiring example for their peers and a reminder that even at a young age, one can be a conscious citizen who cares about the country's safety.
Police continue their educational work among the youth, explaining the dangers of recruitment and the rules of cybersecurity. They encourage everyone to be vigilant and report any suspicious contacts or offers. Every act of concern contributes to our shared victory.
