Electric Vehicles in Odesa Region: Emerging Trends
In Odesa region, a notable number of electric vehicles were registered in May, placing the area among the top regions in Ukraine. A total of 345 electric cars were accounted for, with a considerable portion being used vehicles. This information was released by the association «Ukravtoprom».
Registration statistics and driver preferences
According to the data from the association «Ukravtoprom», 345 electric vehicles were registered in Odesa region in May. It’s important to note that 77% of these are used cars. Leading the national rankings is Lviv region with 799 electric cars. Following are Kyiv (779 cars), Kyiv region (556 cars), and Dnipropetrovsk region (518 cars). Overall, 6168 new electric vehicles hit the roads of Ukraine in May 2025.
In terms of driver preferences, the most frequently chosen new model in Kyiv, Kyiv region, and Dnipropetrovsk region is the Volkswagen ID.UNYX. Meanwhile, in Lviv and Odesa regions, the clear favorite among new electric cars is the Honda eNS1. Regarding used cars, Nissan Leaf continues to lead in our region.
As reported by the State Customs Service, since the beginning of the year, over 40 thousand electric vehicles have been imported into Ukraine, mainly from the United States. The total value of these vehicles reached 810 million dollars. Electric vehicles constitute 22% of the overall number of cars imported into the country. Customs officials predict that if this trend continues, 2025 could set a record for the number of imported “green” cars. It is also noted that the average cost of one electric vehicle imported into Ukraine exceeds 20 thousand dollars.
