Ukraine Joins EU Mobile Network
The European Commission has proposed to include Ukraine in the "Roam like at Home" zone starting January 1, 2026. This will enable Ukrainians to use mobile services in EU countries without extra charges, similar to EU citizens in Ukraine.
The agreement covers calls, SMS, and mobile data at domestic rates, ensuring access to emergency services and equal call quality. The current voluntary agreement between Ukrainian and European operators will be extended until the end of 2025.
This decision requires approval from the EU Council. The Commission noted that Ukraine has fully aligned its legislation with EU roaming regulations, which was a necessary condition for integration.
This marks the first area where Ukraine will gain internal market status within the EU under the Association Agreement.
