Today, June 7, a tragic event occurred in the village of Zatoka, part of the Karolino-Buhaz community. 

Preliminary reports indicate that during swimming in the sea, an explosion of an unidentified object resulted in the deaths of two men.

The identities of the deceased are currently being established.

A forensic team from the Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi district police department, explosive ordnance disposal specialists, and emergency services personnel are working at the scene.

Full circumstances of the incident are being determined, and a decision is being made regarding the entry into the Unified Register of Pre-trial Investigations under part 2 of article 115 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, marked as a “tragic accident.”

Police are urging residents and visitors of Odesa region to strictly follow the wartime regulations: do not visit prohibited beach areas along the Black Sea coast. Please adhere to safety measures and relax only at beaches that have been inspected and cleared of dangerous items.
