Aftermath of Shelling in Odesa: Child Safety Concerns

22 April 2025

This was reported by the press service of the Odesa City Council.

The enemy targeted residential buildings in a densely populated area of Odesa. Numerous apartments were damaged, and three schools suffered significant damage, with over 90 windows shattered. At least three individuals were injured.

Elena Buinyevich, head of the city's education department, warns about the dangers for children following the nighttime shelling:

«Please reiterate to children: do not touch anything suspicious on the ground, nothing unclear. Adults post things online, but it will be hard to explain to children why it is dangerous».

Currently, all relevant services are working to address the aftermath of the Russian attacks.

An operational headquarters of the district administration will be set up in the morning, offering consultations on how to apply for financial aid for window and door repairs, as well as compensation from the state budget under the eRecovery program.

«Additionally, our reliable partners – public and charitable organizations – will assist people by providing kits for temporarily sealing window openings», the city council reported.
