During the meeting on April 18, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine decided to allocate 830 million UAH for equipping shelters in educational institutions.

This information was shared by government representative Taras Melnychuk in a telegram channel.

Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal stated that these funds are intended for continuing work on equipping shelters and ensuring safe conditions in educational establishments. Funding will be provided to 15 communities, as well as the budgets of Kherson, Zaporizhzhia, and Khmelnytskyi regions.

Over the past two years, the government has allocated a record 14 billion UAH for shelters in schools.

It is worth noting that in 2024, Kyiv allocated 2.4 billion UAH for the improvement of shelters, enhancement of fire safety in schools, preparation for winter, and the establishment of educational centers for the subject "Defense of Ukraine".
