Odesa's Healthcare Facilities Hold Health Awareness Campaign

15 April 2025

Last week, Odesa's medical facilities conducted a significant preventive campaign in celebration of World Health Day.

The event was organized with the support of the Odesa City Health Department and the Odesa City Health Center.

On this day, anyone interested could undergo a comprehensive health check-up free of charge at primary healthcare centers, diagnostic consultation centers, and municipal hospitals. Family doctors and therapists provided consultations, and conducted measurements of blood pressure, blood glucose levels, pulse, and ECG tests. If necessary, electronic referrals for laboratory tests and consultations with specialists were issued to patients.

A total of 2536 Odesa residents participated in the health check-ups conducted across the city’s medical institutions. Additionally, with the help of the Kyiv District Administration, medical staff from the Primary Health Care Center No. 3 examined 55 individuals—visitors and employees of the administrative building.
During the health checks, 331 cases of elevated blood pressure and 200 cases of high blood glucose levels were identified. Based on ECG results, 258 patients were referred to a cardiologist.

For patients requiring further examinations, medical staff created 1112 electronic referrals for laboratory tests and 640 referrals for specialist consultations. All patients received consultations from doctors.

Health awareness days help in the early detection of health issues, increase residents' awareness about prevention and early diagnosis, and remind them of the importance of maintaining a healthy lifestyle.
